Elizabeth Schaffer is an associate in the firm and concentrates her practice in areas of Civil and Commercial Litigation and Banking Law.  Ms. Schaffer practices before all state and federal courts in Illinois.

Background and Education:

Ms. Schaffer received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Administration and French in 1980 from Vanderbilt University.

She received a Juris Doctor degree from Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago-Kent College of Law in 1984.

Ms. Schaffer served on the Board of Directors of CareNet Pregnancy Services of DuPage for four years.  She currently volunteers at Administer Justice Dupage Legal Clinic.

Work Experience:

After graduation from Vanderbilt University, Ms. Schaffer worked for Sedgwick North American Ltd. as an insurance broker at Lloyds of London in England. During law school, she had internships with Judge Julius Hoffman and Judge Susan Getzendanner, federal judges for the US District Court, Northern District of Illinois. Upon graduation from law school, Ms. Schaffer practiced law at Pretzel and Stouffer Chartered, focusing on medical malpractice defense litigation. Ms. Schaffer lived  a number of years with her family in Johannesburg South Africa and then worked for the law firm Bollinger, Ruberry and Garvey,  concentrating on civil litigation. Since moving out to Wheaton, she joined the firm of Peregrine, Stime, Newman, Ritzman & Bruckner, Ltd.

Personal:

Ms. Schaffer lives in Wheaton Illinois with her husband Bernard and has three children, William, Richard and Sarah.  Her hobbies include running, tennis and skiing.
